Welcome to Scamp's

At Scamps School of Dog Training, we offer a comprehensive training and behavioural solution service.  We only use positive, ethical and effective training methods, that are fun for both you and your dog.  Our head trainer, Scott has had success all over the country, and his books have sold worldwide.  His reputation for training is unsurpassed and his success with rehabilitating aggressive dogs has resulted in many councils, vets and rehoming charities employing his services.

We offer disability assistance dog training, puppy socialisation classes, basic obedience through to advanced training courses, 1 to 1 behavioural solutions, school dog training, scentwork courses in our magnificent 2.5 acre training field, 'Dealing with K9 Aggression' seminars, loose lead walking workshops, 'Doggie Red Letter Days' and are starting a regional dog club.

So whatever your canine requirements are, we can satisfy your needs using methods that will build on your bond and have your dog desperate for more.

"Cannot rate Scott highly enough. He has given us back our little dog who was too scared to be around other dogs due to an injury. We can never ever thank you enough".

Meet Scamp, founder, inspiration, demo dog, stooge and all round good boy.  Although no longer with us, he lives on in our hearts and his legacy continues.

Scamp, the beautiful dog that was the inspiration for the birth of Scamps School of Dog Training

Our ethos is that of  kindness and fun.  The dated concept that by dominating your dog or trying to convince your dog that you are the alpha of the pack was proven to be ineffective over sixty years ago, yet there are still trainers that attempt to train dogs out of fear.  We realise that is totally unacceptable and is, by definition, abuse.   We will only use kind and effective methods that will get the best from your dog.  Methods that have allowed thousands of Scamp's trained dogs, including fully accredited assistance dogs, rehabilitated aggressive dogs, pups and advanced obedience adult dogs to reach their potential in their respective field.

One happy puppy and satisfied owner graduating Scamp's comprehensive 6 week puppy course.

Scamps Dog Training is proud to adhere to the UK Dog Training Charterdog training charter

UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter

In an unregulated industry, dog owners can often struggle to find a suitably accredited professional to help them and their dog.  While there are many excellent professionals working nationwide, there are also many who continue to use outdated and aversive methods without any oversight or recourse.

The UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter’s aim is to ensure dog owners that its signatory organisations and their members will adhere to the most modern, scientifically-proven, positive methodology.

Scamp's is an accredited member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers

Association of Pet Dog Trainers (Membership No.: 01564)

The Association of Pet Dog Trainers is the primary dog training association in the UK.   It was founded by the forefather of modern dog training, John Fisher, nearly thirty years ago to ensure the public could source an ethical and qualified trainer.  To become a member of the APDT, all trainers have to undergo rigorous and comprehensive written, oral and practical assessment to prove their knowledge and expertise as well as their use of only ethical techniques.  Scamp's head trainer, Scott Allen,  is proud to have achieved APDT status after obtaining a staggering score of over 95 percent over the combined assessments.  This means that Scamp's clients are safe in the knowledge that they are in good, effective and ethical hands when they entrust their dog training to Scamp's School of Dog Training.

Don't ever think

'How do I make a dog do that?'

.....Think

'How can I make a dog want to do that?'
